This week began with more horrible news about domestic violence. In particular, the deaths of 3 children where their father is alleged to have set their home on fire. Shockingly, it’s also alleged he tried to prevent rescuers’ attempts to enter the home to save the children. Their mum and 4 other children have been hospitalised as a result of the blaze and he’s in hospital too.

It’s been reported that he 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙣’𝙩 known to police as there were no reports of previous abuse. But I’m confident it was simply hidden from view.

As a community, we must never lose our ability to be shocked by any form of domestic violence. It’s the best motivator we have to drive change and find solutions.
