Awareness of the risks of acquiring a brain injury for sports people is building. But did you know women are also at significant risk of acquiring a permanent brain injury in their own homes?

I know. It sounds fanciful but it’s true. The following article, Brain Injury Basics: TBI & Intimate Partner Violence (🔗https://lnkd.in/g69YW-Fx), from a Canadian organisation called VBIS (Victoria Brain Injury Society) gives alarming statistics and information on the number of women they see who have acquired a traumatic brain injury (referred to as a TBI) at the hands of their life partner. Someone they trusted with their life and who they thought loved them.

If you have a friend or family member who is difficult to contact and never returns calls, please persevere. They may be in an abusive relationship and one day, they may need your help to escape.
